Goodness in Foster Care

“The state or quality of being good”.  None of us are good within ourselves.

It’s the goodness in us that reflects who Jesus is.

I think about the scripture in Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

When I think about goodness, I think about Jesus! He was wounded for MY transgressions. He was bruised for MY iniquity! The chastisement of my peace was upon HIM and by his stripes I am healed!!!!!

We’ve had many children in our home that are so broken. Physically, mentally& spiritually.

In fact, many have never ever heard about Jesus;  let alone about his goodness! Thru our journey of fostering I’ve seen a lot of hurtful, sad things but goodness has also come from those situations.

Because of the goodness of Jesus in our lives we are able to show these families just how good God is.

We’ve mentored many families during our years of fostering.  I’m thankful for the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for me and my family so that we are able to share that with others.  I’m thankful to be able to be a part of such a good work through foster care!

Not all stories end sad or bad.

Goodness does come out of sadness sometimes.

If we never have a storm, we would never have a rainbow.

When we allow God to unfold the rose in our lives, we are able to see his goodness.   And when we see this as one of the fruits of the spirit, it goes along with the rest… it helps us to be meek, gentle & kind.
