Fostering Hope depends on the financial support of people like you to carry out our mission of supporting and providing resources to children in foster care and their families. While it is true that foster families are reimbursed by the state for their work as foster parents, these funds are limited and do not come close to covering all the costs that it takes to raise a foster child in their home. It is not uncommon for foster families to feel financially strapped or to have to watch the children in their care go without things that many children take for granted. It is our goal to have a fund set aside for these types of needs. Some examples of what your financial donations will go toward include:
Hosting various Fostering Hope events throughout the year
Purchasing items or services needed by children in foster care and their families. This may include, but is not limited to: School supplies, Extra-curricular activity fees, Summer camp fees, Household Items, Medical Supplies, Clothing, and Gifts.
It is important to note that all donations stay local and support the children and families in Jasper County, and are tax-deductible. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support the children in foster care in Newton or McDonald County please contact the Friends of Newton and McDonald Counties’.

Yes! Fostering Hope’s The Caring Closet will accept donations of items that are frequently needed by foster families and the children in their care. Items that are often needed include, but are not limited to:
Diapers, pull-ups, wet-wipes
Baby blankets and new bottles
New/gently used clothes and shoes
New underwear and socks
Toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, deodorant, etc.)
Baby equipment (pack-n-play, toddler beds, cribs, bedding, strollers, high chairs, etc.)
Bunk beds, bedding, dressers
Gift cards to clothing stores
